MEET THE COUNSELOR

Hello my name Robin Hicks, I am the Kofi counselor at Maxfield Elementary.

I am a recent graduate from St Mary’s University with my master’s in marriage & family therapy. I have been working with youth since 2005 on important issue like: motivation, school behavior, social skills and peer interaction. As a Kofi counselor, I work closely with the students and their families in school and home settings. Kofi’s goals are to:

• Provide cultural affirmation, mentorship and role modeling for African American students
• Improve behaviors in the classroom and at home
• Maintain or improve academic performance and attendance
• Increase parental involvement in the child’s education and school activities
• Inspire hope for the future
