KOFI SERVICES
Kofi Services is a culturally-specific, school-based mental health program for African American youth in grades 3-8 and their families who are experiencing difficulty in school, personal relationships or other areas of their lives. “Kofi” is derived from an Akan Asente (a Ghanaian dialect) word meaning “child of growth.”
Counselors and other Kofi Services professionals work closely with the students and their families in school and home settings. Kofi’s goals are to:
Kofi Services works with children attending Rondo Education Center, Maxfield Elementary School, Galtier Elementary School, Dayton’s Bluff Elementary School, Jackson Preparatory Magnet, Michelle and Barack Obama Elementary School and Linwood Monroe Arts Plus School. Kofi Services was developed in collaboration with Ramsey County Human Services, the Saint Paul Public Schools District and the Wilder Foundation.
