PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
| | | | Ms. Belinda Green, Principal | Welcome to Maxfield Magnet for Academic Excellence! My name is Belinda Green. I am the principal of Maxfield. I believe in the capacity of all children to excel. I enjoy working with all people and teachers to make learning effective, purposeful, and fun. I have a passion for helping to make an educational difference.
I have well-rounded administrative abilities because I trained in outstanding educational institutions. I attended the University of Minnesota and I received my Masters degree from Hamline University. My undergraduate work began at Southern Illinois University and was completed at Florida International University. I bring a wealth of experience as a constructivist veteran teacher of over 13 years of high school Language Arts. I am caring, sensitive, supportive and focused. I believe in professional accountability for others and myself. You will find that I lead with research and my heart.
My vision for Maxfield is to create school where every child is learning and learning is fun! I see Maxfield much as the African American Community sees our Historical Black Colleges, called HBCU’S. From such institutions including the Norte Dams and Princeton’s, students are groomed to be learners who are confident and knowledgeable and successful in their chosen endeavors. I ask that you the parent and the community join me in this extremely worthwhile task. I believe that it takes everyone to educate children and I continue to be willing to work with parents, staff, and our community to provide students the best public education St. Paul Public Schools can offer!
I believe in change when and where it is needed. Our challenges will be great but I believe in our success! Let’s work together and keep our eye on the prize, the academic success of our wonderful children at Maxfield.
