Homework
Each day students will have daily reading homework. They will have a book log in their green homework folders that needs to be filled out and signed by an adult each day. They will also have a weekly note and a homework packet sent home on Friday that needs to be returned by the following Thursday.

Skills Block
During skills block each day we will work on reading and writing skills which includes phonics, grammar, word work, letter and sounds, and much more. Each week we will have new word wall words and on Friday we will have a spelling test on these words. Once a word is on the word wall students will be responsible for the words in reading and writing. If students do not know the word after the weeks work with that word, they will continue to work on that word during reading center time. |
Writer's Workshop
Writer's workshop is a time when students get to express their ideas in writing and in drawings. We will begin our year learning about being writers and practicing the things that writers do. |
