MAXFIELD MAGNET SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY 2005-2006
Boys
1. Navy Blue slacks, or walking shorts
2. Navy/Light Blue/White oxford shirt or pullover turtleneck
3. Navy Blue sweater, pullover or cardigan
4. ALL SHIRTS MUST BE TUCKED IN AL ALL TIMES
5. White or Navy Blue socks must be worn at all times

Girls
1. Navy Blue skirts, walking shorts, "skorts" or jumpers
2. Navy Blue sweater-button down, pullover or vest
3. Black or Brown belt with pants
4. Socks or tights: White or Navy Blue socks or tights MUST be worn at all times

SHOE OPTIONS
Parent and student choice so long as students wear the same shoes on both feet, with laces being the same color as the shoes. NO SLIPPERS. SHOES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.

SPECIAL GUIDELINES


  • All shirts must be fully tucked in (NOT ROLLED OVER).

  • Undershirts must be plain white: no colors, no designs, no lettering, etc.

  • Students must wear clothing, which fits them appropriately.

  • No designs or printing other than the Maxfield crest may be worn on tops or bottoms.

  • Pants, skirts, shorts and skorts must be appropriate length and pants legs may not be rolled up.

  • Belts must be strung through the belt loops (belts must be worn if needed).

  • Uniforms are required for field trips unless formal attire is required.

  • the principal will allow exceptions to uniform policy on special occasions (students will be notified in advance).

  • Uniforms must be worn to and from school.

  • Sagging pants will not be tolerated.

  • ALL SHIRTS MUST HAVE A COLLAR.

  • Any outer jackets, sweatshirts, or sweaters worn in school must be uniform colors.
    NOT ALLOWED
    • Suspenders, jeans, sweatpants, wind pants, decorative zippered pants, pants with strings, hooded or zippered sweatshirts or vests, pants, jumpers, or skirts that have been cut altered for "style", bedroom slippers, clothes worn inside out, skirts with slits higher than the knee, shirts with strings or snaps, not hats, ear warmers/headbands, or scarves. Except for medical (doctor note required) or religious/cultural purposes (parent contact to Assistant Principal).

    CONSEQUENCES FOR NOT FOLLOWING THE UNIFORM PLOICY

    • Students arriving to school out of uniform are required to stay in the office and will not be allowed in the cafeteria for breakfast until the uniform issue is corrected.

    • Parents will be called after the third time a student comes out of uniform to verify the reason student is out of uniform.

    • Refusal to wear a uniform for any reason will result in the student being dismissed, thus requiring a parent conference to be readmitted.

    • Further disciplinary actions may be taken if a student consistently refuses to wear their uniform.

    • STUDENT MAY BORROW A UNIFORM, UP TO THREE TIMES THROUGH OUT THE YEAR. IF A STUDENT EXCEEDS THIS NUMBER, PARENTS WILL CALLED TO BRING A UNIFORM TO SCHOOL.
